Originally from Saratoga Springs, New York, Sophie Brill is the head Photo Editor at Narratively, Inc., and a graduate of the School of Visual Arts. Before joining the team at Narratively, she worked on the GRAMMY-nominated Erroll Garner Jazz Project, and this year she is excited to be volunteering as a mentor for NYC SALT, a nonprofit after-school residency program teaching photography and digital skills to New York City high school students. Her work dealing with gun regulation in America was exhibited in the 2017 School of Visual Arts Mentors Exhibition in Chelsea, as well as the 2017 Photoville festival, and she is the 2017 recipient of the Anthony M. Ruotolo Photojournalism Award. She also plays the piano, occasionally teaches yoga and is an avid long-distance runner.
